Today

Ra Ra Viper are a 5 piece indie-rock band from Fremantle, WA.

After forming at the tail-end of 2018, the Fremantle-based five-piece kicked things into gear with a combo of breakthrough songs in 2020; TastePaddy and Swanny Beach setting the tone for things to come, as the band introduced their distinctively West Australian-textured alt-rock to the world. Next came the release of the band’s debut EP Kawaii in 2021, and a 6-track follow-up EP is ready for release for 2023.

Known for their sweaty, energy filled performance, the band has become a staple of the Perth and Fremantle gig scene. Taking inspiration from the likes of The Black Keys, Noah Dillon, Amyl and the Sniffers and Fontaines D.C, Ra Ra Viper have put their own spin on rock n’ roll. With hard hitting lyrics and emotive melodies, the bands music has proven to be popular amongst their passionate and loyal fanbase. After continuing to selling out countless WA shows, Ra Ra Viper have big plans to take their show across Australia in 2023.

Where it all began…

Ra Ra Viper was born during several long car rides Jack and Bolty shared to their amateur footy games, where they discovered a love of classic bands like the Black Keys and Kings of Leon.

Jack’s little brother Haz was later enlisted on the drums (briefly replaced by their cousin Ben until young Harry turned 18), and then Krukky on lead guitar thanks to many mutual friends who wouldn’t stop talking him up.

Finally, Soondi was a late call up on bass after sleeping a drunken night in Jack’s van on the streets of LA.

Despite all vaguely knowing each other before the band, Ra Ra Viper really only came together out of a love of playing live – which is still the band’s biggest strength. Despite somewhat eclectic music tastes/personalities, Ra Ra Viper have somehow managed to avoid killing each other – and all whilst making some decent tunes in the process.
